For thin, shoulder length hair, 8 heaped teaspoons of powder (I box); add 3 teaspoons of conditioning balsam. For thick, shoulder length hair, 16 heaped spoonfuls of powder (2 boxes); add 6 spoonfuls of conditioner. For very long or thick hair, more than 2 boxes may be necessary.

Henna application:

Apply henna to dry hair. Put on gloves and apply over a sink. Start application at the crown of the head, and work in the paste especially at the roots. Once the roots are covered uniformly, work the paste in along the hair length from the roots to the tips: as each section of hair is covered bunch it on the crown of your head. After all the sections of hair are placed on top of your head, continue to massage the paste into the hair for about five minutes. Work the massage up from the base of your head to the top until your hair is evenly covered. Cleanse henna from exposed skin areas (forehead, ears, neck).

Exposure time:

Cover hair with either a towel or plastic bag to conserve the natural heat. Leave to act for 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending in how deeply you want to colour your hair. To obtain deeper colouring, dry your hair using a hair dryer or leave to act for longer. NB. The tint of your hair will attain Its max/mum Intensity after two days.

Colour rinse:

Unwrap hair and rinse with warm water to remove all the dry powder. Shampoo with the henna shampoo of your choice (see 1), rinse thoroughly and apply the henna conditioner leaving it to act two or three minutes before again rinsing thoroughly. The henna conditioner fixes the hair colour onto your hair and untangles it for easy combing.

Precautions:

Test the colouring on a single lock of hair before proceeding with a complete application. Do not use on the eyelashes, eye brows or on a cut scalp. Do not apply Henna Colour within a minimum period of four weeks following any chemical treatment (peroxide, permanent, bleaching, uncurling, etc).

Instructions for Henna use.

Shampoo your hair then towel dry.

Shake the bottle first, begin by applying henna to the roots working along partings. Work all along the hair to ensure it is evenly distributed.

Gather your hair together on the top of your head and cover with a shower cap.

 Leave the henna to act for 10 to 45 minutes reduce the application time if your hair has been permed coloured or de-kinked

Then add a little water and work the henna shampoo into a lather , rinse thoroughly. You can then set it. There is no need to shampoo.
