Henna' is a shrub growing to 6 m tall. the leaves are dried and ground into a powder. It is used as a dye for hair and temporary tattoos known as mehndi. When used on the skin beautiful designs can be hand painted with brush, cone or stencil The longer Henna paste is left on the skin the better as the stain can be fully absorbed into the dead thicker skin cells normally found on feet and hands. Wrapping the painted area with tissue or cling film overnight can intensify the depth of colour which in turn will make the tattoo last longer. Click on body henna info for painting advice.
